Keystone Teen Council

The Keystone Teen Council, or KTC, is a group of teens from across Pennsylvania who want to make a difference. The KTC has four main goals.

  • For teens to take the lead to bridge the gap between teen and adult leaders serving on both county councils and the National Youth Design Team.
  • For teens to develop a tool to prepare, judge, and nominate the teen leaders for national events. We need a way to fill the void between the county experience and the national experience.
  • For teens to be involved in the development of relevant materials for leadership development and training.
  • For teens to gain leadership experiences by serving and supporting their 4-H programs and communities through hands-on involvement in various events and activities.

The KTC focuses on leadership and community service. In 2002 the KTC used the "4-H Can House" at the Farm Show and collected over 1000 pounds of food that was donated to a local food bank.

2002 PA Keystone Teen Conference

Nine Westmoreland County 4-H members attended the first PA Keystone Teen Conference at Hartman Center, Milroy, PA, in early December. The conference developed their leadership skills to accept leadership roles in their local 4-H clubs, as well as, with the county 4-H program.
