American Lung AssociationFreedom From Smoking is an adult cessation program available online at www.lungusa.org (free).  1-800-LUNGUSA

American Respiratory Alliance Offers adult and teen smoking cessation classes as well as facilitator training call 1-800-220-1990.   Adult cessation programs include:

  • "Getting Ready to Quit” – a free one-session program
  • “21-day Personal Reduction Program” – a free 21-day program
  • “Smoke Free For Life” – a nine–session program (seven sessions with two follow-up classes)  These classes can be held in the workplace or in a community center.  There is a $50.00 fee per participant and a one-time administrative fee of $150.00. Minimum of 10 participants.
  • “Take Control” – a four-session cessation program that is the condensed form of the nine-session “Smoke free for Life” program.  There is a $30.00 fee per participant and a one-time $75.00 administrative fee.

Centers for Healthy Hearts and Souls, Pittsburgh – Call 412-371-3282 The smoking cessation program includes classes, support groups, telephone techniques, and one day workshops, home visits to pregnant women, nicotine replacement, and low impact aerobics for weight control. All of these programs are FREE.

St. Clair Memorial Hospitaloffers “Smoke Free For Life”, an 8 week program (1 ½ hrs each session) through the American Respiratory Alliance Call 412-561-4900 X2000. (pregnant & general population)

Sto-Rox Family Health Center – Offers a 6 week smoking cessation program as needed.

UPMC Healthy Lifestyles - For classes call 1-800-533-UPMC (1-800-533-UPMC). Sessions are held at many UPMC hospitals such as McKeesport, Passavant, South Side, and St. Margaret's.

On-going support group every Monday, 7:00pm at Passavant Hospital.

Veteran's Administration Medical Centersmoking cessation groups are offered for veterans only with fees varying according to categories.  The program is offered once a week for 10 weeks. Call 412-365-4713.
